Administrators Workshop

In conjunction with its annual National Conference, the LFP sponsors an annual Workshop for Senior Administrators of Network institutions. These workshops are arranged within the National Network and are offered at no cost to senior administrators at Lilly Fellows Program National Network member institutions. The first participant from each school will be reimbursed for travel costs up to $600. Meals and hotel accommodations will also be paid by the Lilly Fellows Program in Humanities and the Arts. Additional participants from member schools will be wait-listed until September 30 and will be enrolled as slots become available.

Diversity and Mission

  How can colleges and universities move beyond demographic arguments for increasing student diversity and toward mission driven recruitment strategies? ♦ What are the challenges that accompany diversity? ♦ What resources are available to church-related schools seeking to diversify their academic communities? ♦ How can church-related schools most successfully educate faculty and staff to a deeper appreciation of the imperatives and benefits of campus diversity ?

 The Workshop on Campus Diversity and Institutional Mission will begin with noon luncheon on Thursday, October 9 and end at 1:30 pm on Friday, October 10, 2008.*

* Administrators who participate in this workshop may also want to register for and attend the eighteenth annual Lilly Fellows Program National Conference, this year on the theme Beauty: What’s Justice Got to Do With It?.,  October 10 – 12 at Seattle-Pacific University. There is no registration fee or on site cost for the Conference. Conference coordinator is Dr. Susan VanZanten Gallagher, Director of SERVE, Director of The Center for Scholarship and Faculty Development, and Professor of English, Seattle-Pacific University.
